CLIFTON MANSIONS EVICTED

Lambeth Borough Council instructed their preferred eviction team UK Evict Limited to remove squatters from Clifton Mansions. The Mansions are made up of 22 individual apartments that have been illegally occupied for 20 years. Lambeth Council served 28 day notices on the occupiers to remove themselves voluntarily before they send in the High Court Enforcement Officers.

A number of individuals took the opportunity to occupy the premises overnight resulting in disorder; including an allegation of robbery and objects thrown at police officers and their vehicles.

At 9.00am Enforcement Officers removed a barricade to the entranceway, whilst avoiding bottles being thrown at them from height, and within two hours effected an extremely safe eviction. A 20 year problem was solved within two hours, again this is testament to the professionalism and experience of the Team.
Sadly one Police Officer received an injury to his eye, and a man has been arrested for assault on a Police Officer

Through meticulous planning and preparation the NET were able to remove protestors from 12 Tree houses, 3 floating platforms, and three tunnels within hours of turning up on site. The NET had planned that the best time to take the 18 month encampment was to turn up on the morning of the V festival which was held at Weston Park Shropshire. As thought - the camp numbers had been greatly reduced by the protestors attending the festival.

When the NET turned up on Friday morning of August the 18th there were only 6 Protestors left on site - who all left peacefully and with no resistance. The site was within 30 minutes of the team arriving devoid of any protestors. Alun Morgan of the NET said “with the complexities of the Tunnel network and Lock Ons prepared, it looked like the NET would have taken at least three and a half weeks to have a vacant site, had the seasoned protestors been here. Ben Hartley a seasoned campaigner and the Chief Orchestrator of the Huntington Lane site had previously stated that the “tunnels had gone into ancient monuments or Bell Pits and that the NET would be evicting for months”. The Tunnel team upon inspection found no such evidence of this claim whatsoever.

We are proud of our safety track record that has now spanned over a -16 year period.

UK COAL is Britain's biggest producer of coal, supplying around 5% of the country's energy needs for electricity generation. The Group has three deep mines located in Central and Northern England with substantial reserves and employs 2,900 people. It had six active surface mines producing around 1.7 million tonnes of coal a year in 2009. Total surface mining coal reserves, including projects being worked and in planning, are in excess of 50 million tonnes.

Martin said that he was honoured and humbled to serve in such a prestigious position. " I am looking forward to the challenges ahead, and particularly the implementation of the Tribunals Courts and Enforcement Act 2007. I will serve my fellow officers to the best of my ability, I know that it is going to be another challenging year, but I am looking forward to it.

On a very cold morning the National Eviction Team (NET) enters the The Mainshill Wood Solidarity camp that was set up to oppose plans for an open cast mine near the village of Douglas. The NET were faced with around 50 Eco-Warriors who were contained within 5 separate encampments spread over a 350 Acre site, all protestors were either at height, down a tunnel or locked on. Through the experience and professionalism of the NET 46 people were removed from their Lock-Ons and arrested.

Martin Leyshon said that "I am absolutely delighted at the way this eviction has gone, there were many challenging and unique Lock-Ons to deal with, however after some quick dynamic risk assessments we overcame everything that they could throw at us, after 21 years I thought that I had pretty much seen it all, until Mongoose was discovered suspended around 12 foot above ground, cocooned in a corrugated hardened water tube, de-locking her neck to the handle of a dust bin lid reversed into the tube'.

The eviction and safe removal of the protestors took four and a half days to complete. Colin Murphy Chief Inspector of Strathclyde Police said " In all my years as a Police Officer I have never seen anyone put their lives in danger such as these people, I am in awe at the NETs climbers and the professional way that they have removed people from height.
