Property Officers
During each eviction there is appointed a Property Officer. This Officer has overall responsibility for ensuring that the personal property that is left behind finds its way back to its rightful owner. The Property removed is again recorded by our Home Office Trained Evidence Gathering Team (EGT), and further documented on a sheet. The recorded property is then bagged and dropped off at a convenient location for collection. Problems arise when this aspect of the eviction is not considered.
It avoids future allegations and claims from Protestors who allege that their property has been stolen.
It must be remembered that our duties, as Officers of the Court, are to remain impartial when executing a Writ of Possession.
The law is quite clear on this aspect, that our first duty is to obey the order of the Judge, and uphold the integrity of our Judicial System.
Above is a Protestor who is arrested without her personal property, which was returned to her later on that morning.
